Vis is a city on the Vis island, in Croatia. It has a population of 1,960 residents (as of 2001). The city of Vis is located in a relatively large and protected bay on the north-east side of the island facing the island of Hvar and the Dalmatian mainland. Administratively Vis is a part of the Split-Dalmatia County.
